Warhammer Fantasy

Over the years I painted several other fantasy models, just for the fun of it or to use them in WFRP sessions.  Here a few pics I took.

Empire State Troops & Mortar

Civilians

Chaos

Beastmen

Militia

Zombie Dragon, Zombies, Djinn & Treeman

More Civilians, Dwarves & Strigoi Vampires

River Trolls

Teuton Guard

Most of these were painted with basic colours and detail, then dipped (brush on) with Quick Shade.  Afterwards a matte spray varnish was applied (not in all cases).  It's a technique I got better at over time (some of the models are way too glossy or 'dirty') but recently i'm getting better and better at it.

For the moment I'm working on a unit of Empire Knights and a unit of Outriders to expand on the Empire army.

Imperial Guard

Once my Tyranids were 'finished' (yeah, right) I started working on an Imperial Guard force to counter the green menace.

Guardsmen & Heavy Weapons

Chimera

Leman Russes

Valkyrie Squadron

Snipers

Storm Troopers

Command Squad

I hope to expand this army as well in the following months ...

Tyranid Blood Bowl Teams

I made these teams for me and a friend of mine to use in a Blood Bowl League.  We were using custom rulesets.

The Fire Dragons

The Ice Dragons

The rules were imbalanced and we failed miserably ... but we had nice teams ;)

Hive Fleet LV-426

This is my first 40k army that I built several years ago.   I plan on adding several more units to it later this year.

The painting scheme I used is very simple:
- black undercoat
- complete drybrush with bone colour
- paint the carapace/scitin/talons with white
- paint the white parts with high pigment ink (light green)
- paint the bone parts with high pigment in (light green)
- light drybrush with rotting flesh
- details & highlights with bright yellow

Ripper Swarms

Gaunts

Brood Lord & Genestealers

Space Hulk Genestealers

Warriors

Winged Warriors

Raveners

Zoanthropes

Carnifexes

Meiotic Spores

Lictors (animated gifs)

Winged Hive Tyrant

Trygon (ForgeWorld)

Some eye candy

Tomb Kings

Before posting about a new project I'm working on I'll post some of my older work.

This is a Tomb Kings army I painted last year during an "annual painting challenge" that I do with some friends.

I haven't had the chance to take a group shot but here are some pictures of the seperate units:

Skeleton Spearmen

Skeleton Archers

Bone Giant

Carrion

Tomb Guard

Skeleton Horsemen & Liche Priest

Ushabti

Screaming Skull Catapults

Sepulchral Stalkers

Necrosphinx

Casket Of Souls

I chose for an easy colour scheme: undercoat with a bone colour spraypaint from The Army Painter followed by red, orange and various metallic paints.  Then I used Quickshade (splash on dip also from The Army Painter) and applied a matte spray varnish.

The whole process went pretty fast and the results are of a nice gaming quality ... just the way I like it. :)
