A unit for my Empire Army. Unfortunately I used too much mat varnish with the hazy effect as the result :(

Fantasy Scenery
Last but not least I worked on several scenery projects for myself and my gaming club. I'll split it up into two pieces.
First some Fantasy scenery.
First some Fantasy scenery.
Modular River
These were made by cutting out MDF and painting the surfaces with realistic water colours. Afterwards a high gloss finish was applied.
Cottages
These were made using plaster building block (HirstArts molds)
Ruined Wall
Forest bases
Herdstone
Fieldstone Church
Since I'll be doing more Fantasy this year (Empire, Tomb Kings & 1 secret project ...) I guess I'll be creating more Fantasy scenery this year as well ...
Warhammer Fantasy
Over the years I painted several other fantasy models, just for the fun of it or to use them in WFRP sessions. Here a few pics I took.
Most of these were painted with basic colours and detail, then dipped (brush on) with Quick Shade. Afterwards a matte spray varnish was applied (not in all cases). It's a technique I got better at over time (some of the models are way too glossy or 'dirty') but recently i'm getting better and better at it.
For the moment I'm working on a unit of Empire Knights and a unit of Outriders to expand on the Empire army.
Empire State Troops & Mortar
Civilians
Chaos
Beastmen
Militia
Zombie Dragon, Zombies, Djinn & Treeman
More Civilians, Dwarves & Strigoi Vampires
River Trolls
Teuton Guard

Tomb Kings
Before posting about a new project I'm working on I'll post some of my older work.
This is a Tomb Kings army I painted last year during an "annual painting challenge" that I do with some friends.
I haven't had the chance to take a group shot but here are some pictures of the seperate units:
Skeleton Spearmen
Skeleton Archers
Bone Giant
Carrion
Skeleton Horsemen & Liche Priest
Ushabti
Screaming Skull Catapults
Casket Of Souls
More & high resolution pics can be found here.

I chose for an easy colour scheme: undercoat with a bone colour spraypaint from The Army Painter followed by red, orange and various metallic paints. Then I used Quickshade (splash on dip also from The Army Painter) and applied a matte spray varnish.
The whole process went pretty fast and the results are of a nice gaming quality ... just the way I like it. :)
